Yes. Free is free forever and never asks for a credit card. You get every Medfair feature with gentle limits (patients, invoices, Combine AI messages, uploads) so you can run a real clinic and see how Medfair fits before you pay a cent.

Same product; Pro just takes the limits off. Free caps things like active patients, monthly invoices, Combine AI usage, and storage; Pro makes all of them unlimited for a single clinic at one flat price. You only upgrade when you outgrow the Free caps, not to unlock a feature.

A clinic is a single physical location with its own patient roster, invoicing, and wallet. Pro covers one clinic. If you run multiple locations, talk to us about a Health System plan that centralizes billing across all of them.

Yes. Upgrade to Pro anytime from Account → Billing and the limits come off immediately, prorated to the current cycle. Downgrades back to Free take effect at the next renewal so you’re never cut off mid-month. Your data stays put, only your usage caps change.

No setup fees, and no card required to start on Free. Pro is month-to-month (or annual if you want ~2 months free) and cancel anytime. Health System contracts are usually 12-month, but terms are negotiable.

Share your clinic’s referral link from Account → Billing. When a referred clinic signs up and stays on a paid plan for 30 days, both clinics get one free month credited automatically. Credits stack, with no expiry and no cap.

Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 CAD per successful domestic card charge; Medfair adds a 0.2% platform margin on top, so clinics see a single combined line item of 3.1% + $0.30 CAD on every charge. That 0.2% slice covers our cost of hosting payments: secure card vaulting, fraud and dispute tooling, webhook + audit trails, and the clinic ↔ vendor settlement plumbing that doesn’t exist in vanilla Stripe. We renegotiate with Stripe and other rails as our volume grows and pass any reduction back to clinics. Subscription pricing above is separate; the 0.2% only applies when money actually moves.

All listed prices are in CAD and exclude GST/HST, which is applied in checkout based on your province. We use Stripe Tax to keep this compliant without you having to think about it.

Yes. Medfair stores Canadian clinic data in Canadian regions, with encryption at rest and in transit, full audit logs, and DPAs available on request. Health System customers can sign a custom DPA and BAA.

Always. From Account → Billing you can request a full data export (patients, invoices, audit trail) at any time. We retain canceled-clinic data for 90 days, then purge per our DPA.
